Virtualization To Supply 1.8 Million Students With Computer Access

Virtualization will give 1.8 million students in India access to computers. NComputing just announced  that it would supply computing power to 5,000 schools in the state of Andhra Pradesh, the largest and most exceedingly populated state in southern India. The company is one of numerous IT businesses allowing low-cost technology to construct computer laboratories.

NComputing produces manifold desktops on a single PC so numerous users can access and partake unused capacity. Its X300 system, lets seven users to share one PC. Each lab will contain two desktops with virtualization software, which will enable 10 slim clients with their own monitors, keyboards, and mice. The software works with Linux and Windows, which serves as the operating system for the labs.

NComputing  capitalizes on* the fact that most PC users take in up to 2% of the capacity of their PCs, with peaks up to 20%, through multimedia applications, e-mail, and Web browsing.
